I'm a housekeeper at Finest Retreats - part of The Hidden Workforce who work behind the scenes to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
There's some information below on who we are and what we do, and if you like you can leave a tip which is shared out amongst the team at the end of the season.
A LITTLE ABOUT US...
WE LIVE LOCALLY
I, and all the other housekeepers live only a short distance away from the property. We're lucky to live and work in the towns which many people choose for their holidays, and our income depends on the continued footfall from tourism.
OUR SCHEDULES ARE SEASONAL AND UNPREDICTABLE
Bookings can be last minute, with changeovers scheduled for any day of the week. We have to be highly flexible and our lives fit around the booking calendar of the property.
WE'RE SUPPORTED BY AN OFFICE TEAM
The team in the office take your calls and answer your emails. They liaise with us to deal with special requests, co-ordinate last minute arrivals and manage the maintenance call-outs.
WHAT WE DO...
CLEAN AND RESET EVERY ROOM
We ensure a checklist of tasks is completed each time, paying attention to the details. We clean all the floors, surfaces and bathrooms and this can take several hours. We look out for maintenance issues and add the finishing touches. We really appreciate notes left from guests informing us of anything that needs attention.
CHECK AND CHANGE THE LINEN
We bring fresh linens and change the beds, taking the old sheets away to be washed.
TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEO WALK-THROUGHS TO PROVIDE TO THE OWNERS
After every changeover we photograph each room and complete a video walk-through, so the property owner has a full record of how their home has been prepared for the next guests.
